Generating ideas from TEDx
Alumni ideas worth spreading, ideas worth discovering
Dear Friends,
I have had a busy few weeks planning a very inspiring event - TEDxTrinityCollegeDublin! As the organizer and the MC it's been a whirlwind.
It brought me back to the thrill and delight of giving my own TED Talk at TEDxBallybofey. 8 years ago I stepped on the red dot and "We are all connected by one word: Alumni" was born! Hurrah!

What I loved about last night is the 17 speakers from across Trinity - students, alumni, researchers, staff and faculty - connected as a group. They are a special TEDxTrinity alumni crew now - we are planning a coffee meet-up gathering soon to revel in out TEDx success! Most importantly (although what is better than connection?) are the ideas. What they can spark about alumni, for alumni and by alumni. The event was swirling with ideas - and not all from the TEDx stage, the event become a safe space and incubator of ideas.

Let's do things differently. Is there something that needs to be refreshed - can you look at it from a new perspective? Is there someone outside of your field that you can share this with? Inspiration can come from the most unassuming places.
Or perhaps there's a half-formed idea you've tucked away that needs the light of day. Share it with someone. Today on Alumni Friday! Give it a voice and start to give it life. Be open to discussion - you never know who could help you achieve it!
