Alumni - getting around to it
Are you ready for a 'round to it' day?
Dear Friends,
Yesterday I had a 'round to it' day.
It is easy to be overwhelmed by the little things that creep onto the to-do list.
The people - alumni!- you hoped to reconnect with.
The social post you hoped to write.
Yesterday in my flurry to get a million things done early in the day, I got my signal.
I burned my porridge.
Yes, that simple. I was doing too much.
So I stopped (and of course made another batch of oatmeal!).
I created a 'round to it' list - things I said I would 'get around to doing' someday soon.
That was my focus. I had a to-do list that turned into a ta-da list
I reread articles that I enjoyed too over a cup of tea:
A Roostervane article that focuses on the 'career boost' most students forget (spoiler alert: alumni!!)
Kathy Edersheim's article on Community vs Network.
Needless to say I feel lighter. Those things I procrastinated on are now out of my hair! Today, my Alumni Friday includes some indulgent reconnections with alumni professionals - I can't wait!
Your challenge today:
What should be on your 'round to it' list? Who should be on this list? Are there alumni or possibly an alumni professional you wanted to reach out to? Today is the day! Use a part of your Alumni Friday to get around to it!
I have some exciting announcements coming up over the next few weeks. I may go into hibernation mode for a few weeks- indulge me. The Alumni Friday archive is there for you!
With alumni love and productivity,
Maria
